12th Annual Marching Classic – 9/22/17 – Volunteers are needed!!

Current volunteer openings are shown below.  Links to sign up in Charms are included for each date.  If you have questions, need a different shift time, have trouble signing up or simply just want us to place you to volunteer wherever needed…please email nchsbbavolunteercoord@gmail.com    The support of our NCHS Band families, alumni and D203 friends is appreciated.  We need over 200 volunteers to help make this a success.

Marching Classic Volunteer Areas and Descripions
9/22 Marching Classic Volunteer Areas and Descriptions:
  • 50-50 Raffle – Adult 12:30-4pm
    50-50 Raffle – Adult 9a-12:30pm
    -Help sell 50/50 Raffle tickets in the spectator stands

 

  • Air Grams – Adult 12-4p
    Air Grams – Adult 8a-12p
    -Help sell Air Grams (announcer shout-outs to band members purchased by family and friends)
  • Air Grams Student Runners 12:30-4pm
    Air Grams Student Runners 9-12:30p
    -Students (non-marching) who bring batches of purchased air grams to the press box. Perfect for younger siblings
  • Hospitality 08:00AM – 12:00PM
    Hospitality 12:00PM – 4:00PM
    -Help prep in the morning and then provide snacks, water, etc to the visiting band directors/staff, bus drivers and judges

 

  • Large shade canopies- loan for the day
    -We need canopies for the practice field, pit warm up, band check in, exit gate, etc. Can be dropped off early that day or by appointment a few days prior

 

  • Logistics BandChaperone-Adult 8:30-12:30
    Logistics Band Chaperone Adult 12-4pm
    -lead a marching band from band check in through their pit warm up, field warm up, performance and back to their buses (MPC will take drumline at Exit Gate as needed)
  • Logistics Band Chaperone-Stu 10a -2pm
    -lead a marching band from band check in through their pit warm up, field warm up, performance and back to their buses (MPC will take drumline at Exit Gate as needed)

  • Logistics Exit Gate-Adult 12:30-4:30p
    Logistics Exit Gate-Adult 9a-1p
    -monitor the exit gate, provide water to band members, help bands navigate props to field positioning if needed, discourage bands from entering through exit gate.
  • Logistics Exit Gate- Student 10-2
    -monitor the exit gate, provide water to band members, help bands navigate props to field positioning if needed, discourage bands from entering through exit gate.

  • Logistics MPC – Adult 9:30a-12:30p
    Logistics MPC Adult 12:30-3:30pm
    -meet bands at exit gate after field show and lead the drumline to the MPC area for performance. S
    ome drumlines may perform before their field performance – meet at logistics tent or TBA. Help drumline return to buses or band for performance

    -meet bands at exit gate after field show and lead the drumline to the MPC area for performance. S

    Logistics Pit Warm Up Adult 9a-12:30p
    -meet front ensemble with band chaperone and bring to pit warm up area. Bring front ensemble to field entrance to meet band prior to performance.
    Offer water to band members.

  • Logistics Practice Field Adult 12:30-4p
    Logistics Practice Field Adult 9-12:30p
    -help band chaperone with field practice movement between bands and timing. Keep bands moving. Offer water to band members.
    Advise instrument repairs to Ellmans (onsite) as needed.
  • Logistics Practice Field-Student 10a-2p
    -help band chaperone with field practice movement between bands and timing. Keep bands moving. Offer water to band members.

  • Medical Station-medical experience req
    -provide basic first aid or call local EMTs as needed. Only qualified adults with medical experience please.

 

  • Parking Crew Adult 12:30-4:30p
    Parking Crew Adult 2-5pm
    Parking Crew Adult 8:30a-12:30p
    -direct buses and trucks to pre-assigned parking areas. Direct cars to parking in marked lots.
    Diffuse issues or ask for help to resolve. Help direct vehicles exiting after performance or event

  • Photography Crew
    -take group and action photos and videos as organized by the photography chair

 

  • Pit Crew for NCHS MPC and Field Perf
    -help Marching Redhawks front ensemble for exhibition performance AND MPC performance. Help load and unload equipment at Ben U and NCHS
  • Prop Crew for NCHS Perf
    -help load/assemble/move/disassemble and re-load props for Marching Redhawks

 

  • ScoreRunner-MPC non marching 12:30-3:30p
    ScoreRunner-MPC non marching 9:30-12:30p
    -non-marching students bring scores from MPC area to press box. Perfect for younger siblings

  • Spirits Button Booth Sales – First Half

  • Tickets – Adults 12:30-4:30pm

    -help set up and sell tickets, hand out will-call tickets, etc.
